Perspective

The Lake Wisconsin Lions Club is a diverse collection of more than 50 community service-minded men and women who make a difference in the lives of those in need— and find fun and friendships in the process. We meet at 7:00 pm the first and third Thursdays of each month for fellowship and service. Our activities include. . .

  • Business meetings, planning & organizing service projects

  • Featured speaker presentations from community leaders and service providers, State Lion project leaders

  • Social events ... summer sandblast, winter progressive dinner, informal get-togethers

  • Special outings—golf, bowling, curling (sometimes)

  • Hands-on projects ... children’s vision screening, eye (cornea) transplant transport, eyeglass recycling, Whalens Grade maintenance, park(s) work, more

  • Fundraisers—three major a year to raise funds that are returned to serve worthy community needs, activities and projects

... Welcomes new members and provides mentors to help them get acquainted, feel comfortable and “learn the ropes”

... Believes that, as with any worthwhile endeavor, what you get out of Club membership is what you put into it

... Encourages participation in Club service, fundraisers and at meetings as work or personal commitments permit

... Enjoys strong support from local business, civic, school and service community leaders

... Over the past decade has donated some $150,000 to community causes and additionally infused some $110,000 into local businesses (for supplies and services related to fundraiser projects expense).
