Group Support Requests
The Lake Wisconsin Lions Club annually provides support for worthy community projects. Support is available in the form of member time, as well as financial grants.
If your non-profit organization has a need or a project you would like us to consider during our October-September budget year, we invite you to let us know before September 1. While we will certainly consider providing help at any time, learning of special community needs during our budgeting period is desirable.
Concerning financial support, considerations you may wish to keep in mind include:
- Our preference is to provide time or labor, or funds for specific, rather than general, needs. We would, for example, generally prefer to buy a particular piece of equipment or material rather than simply write a check.
- Our annual community funds budget varies from year to year depending on the success of our fundraisers.
- Religious organization projects can be considered only if they are unrelated to religious purpose or promotion.
- The areas of community need that we favor for consideration include:
— Youth
— Seniors/Elderly
— Health/Safety/Crime prevention
— Special situations/human needs
— Natural resource preservation
